Brothers in Alms - On the Sea

ON THE SEA

The British Navy at the time of the First World War was the largest and most feared in the world. The navy was since the time of Nelson our proudest military possession and no expense was spared in furnishing it with the latest and best hardware. The Germans were aware of this and had been trying to catch up. The only major sea battle of the war the Battle of Jutland proved inconclusive and a bit of a let down for morale but enough to persuade the Germans not to try it again.
