Scheme Lodges

Hartington Lodge is the Universities Scheme Lodge for the Province of Derbyshire, joining in 2012. We are also a member of the Association of Medical, Universities & Legal Lodges. We have a wide range of members from all walks of life, including a number of members of staff from the university, past and present. We have regular social events, which include going away both in the UK and abroad, and raising money for charity in the process. The Lodge welcomes all individuals, so long as they share the same core views and beliefs.

Isaac Newton University Lodge No 859 (INUL) in the Masonic Province of Cambridgeshire is for matriculated members of the University of Cambridge.

INUL was consecrated on 21 May 1861 at the Red Lion Hotel, Petty Cury in Cambridge. The Duke of St Albans was the Lodge’s first Worshipful Master. Other distinguished members of the Lodge include HRH the Prince of Wales and later King Edward VII (1873).

In addition to regular meetings, INUL holds an annual guest night and a summer garden party. These popular events are an opportunity to open up to potential new members, partners of current members and members from other Lodges in the city.

Juno Lodge was consecrated on Saturday 23 October 2021 in Kingston upon Hull. We are a keen group, set to be the Province’s champion of the Universities Scheme. The Scheme itself is a pioneering attempt by the United Grand Lodge of England to help and support the many students and other young people who are seeking to become involved in Freemasonry but who may not know where to begin.

Juno Lodge aims to make Freemasonry more accessible to university students, academics, alumni and staff who would like to engage and enjoy the precepts of Freemasonry but struggle due to studies, family and career pressures. Juno will make Freemasonry more accessible to men without compromising their studies or work commitments, nor without losing any of the ethos or principles of Freemasonry.

We are a group of enthusiastic, likeminded, local members – our membership ranges in age from 21 to 60-plus. For many, the biggest draw is the fact that members come from all walks of life and meet as equals whatever their race, religion or socioeconomic position in society. We will be taking part in national and local community engagements to make a positive difference to the community.

We recognise that personal circumstances or professional commitments may influence attendance, which is why Juno Lodge only meets five times a year. Our meetings are held at the Minerva Masonic Hall, Dagger Lane, Kingston upon Hull, which is situated within the city’s old town.

The Lodge of Science and Art meets at the Masonic Hall, Loughborough. As part of its activities, it is responsible for recruiting students, staff and alumni from Loughborough University who have shown an interest in becoming Freemasons, and looking after them once they have joined.

The Lodge of Union was established in 1812, as a result of the union of two lodges, there by having a 200 year relationship with the City of Chichester.

The lodge membership was traditionally made up of local businessmen and business owners located in the city. Over time that profile has changed as the lodge which has had its own website for 20 years has embraced technology and social media. Since 2016, the lodge has enjoyed a steady flow of previously ‘unknown’ joining members and initiates, as well as the more traditional sources of family members, friends and work colleagues.

Lothbury Lodge was consecrated in 1912. It is a Masonic Lodge under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England and the Metropolitan Grand Lodge of London.

The lodge is traditional and has members from all corners of the globe. Historically, it was formed as the lodge for bank managers and directors of Barclays Bank and their sons, and thus, it has a heritage in banking and finance. This was the case until the late 1970s, at which point it opened its membership to members from other professions while maintaining its rich heritage as a lodge for financial services professionals.

In contemporary times, we boast a diverse membership of men of all ages, ethnicities, religions, and professional backgrounds. All while maintaining common values and a shared commitment to the craft. We pride ourselves on the friendship displayed among members, our enjoyment of meetings, and our dedicated support for Charitable Appeals over the years.

Old Mancunians with Mount Sinai is a Masonic Lodge in East Lancashire, which meets in Manchester city centre. The Lodge is a member of the United Grand Lodge of England’s Universities Scheme, serving university students, graduates and staff in the northwest of England. However, this is not exclusive and our membership remains open to all. So, if you are interested in joining Freemasonry or you are already a Freemason but coming to Manchester, we would be delighted to welcome you

Onslow Lodge is a very warm and welcoming Lodge, with a strong camaraderie amongst members. We also pride ourselves on exceptionally high standards of ritual.

We are a University Lodge and attract a growing number of students, supported by a strong local base of members too (both new and more established members).

We have 32 subscribing members, aged from their early 20s to their mid-80s. Our membership is drawn from diverse backgrounds (local, national & international) and all walks of life with a broad range of interests.

Members play an active role involved in the Lodge, regardless of whether they are new to Freemasonry or a 'Seasoned' one. Our more senior members are very supportive in encouraging newer Freemasons on their Masonic journey.

A collaboration between the Provinces of East and West Lancashire saw the foundation of this highly successful Chapter, with members from both Provinces and multiple exaltations each year. A peripatetic Chapter meeting in both Provinces, it creates a pleasant opportunity for introducing Scheme Lodge members to the Royal Arch, with a constant eye on research and development.
