This was the brainchild of Ray Collins of Aviation and Combined Services Lodge. It was a fabulous fundraising exercise, promoting Freemasonry in the Community.

Chris Moore gave thanks not only to Ray and all the "walkers" no matter how far they walked but also to the support and backup team who accompanied them.

Thanks to the Brethren, their families and friends who helped raise over £22,000 (including gift aid) via the MY28 initiative. Over 600 individual donations for the Sussex 2028 Festival for the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Following the abseiling, there was a cheque presentation to support and highlight some Local Charities. The Chairman of Sussex Masonic Charities, Mike Harris, presented the awards to the WOLO foundation, SERV Sussex, Memory Lane Eastbourne, The Sussex Beacon and the ABC Fund - Anne Bickmore Children's Fund.

Chris Moore said that a shed load of money had been raised today; he commended everyone involved for their service and congratulated the local charities for their fantastic work in the community.

This abseil event was the mindset of Peter Gwilliam and would not have been possible without Peter and his team of experts who volunteered their time and expertise to support this event.
