Sensei Gavin Irvine presents a cheque for £800 to fellow members of Phoenix Karate Club

On Wednesday, 28th August, at the Phoenix Karate Club training night,  Sensei Gavin Irvine, better known to Freemasons as Gavin Irvine of Union Lodge, presented a cheque for £800. This donation is to support club students in being able to compete at the upcoming WUKF European Karate Championships in Poland.

This donation will go a long way to help the club based in Great Yarmouth purchase necessary training equipment, kit and clothing, as well as meet other costs associated with competing at the international level.

Gavin, a Black Belt and himself an instructor at the club, raised this sum when Master of Union Lodge in 2023, as well as lending sterling support to Festival 2027.

Dave Wadhams of Phoenix Karate Club thanked Gavin and Freemasonry in Naorfolk warmly for their support. The club would be pleased to hear from other  Lodges which would like to support their young members going to The Euros.
